As you may know, Goldmoney’s Mastercard® Prepaid card has been issued in partnership with Wirecard Bank in Germany, one of the leading prepaid debit card bank issuers in the world.
Unfortunately, there have been proposals to restrict the issuance of prepaid debit cards from EU banks to citizens outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”). As a result, and due to recent changes in the regulatory regime in the EU, Goldmoney has been required to make changes to our card issuing program for all our clients that reside in non-EEA countries. These changes take effect on October 31, 2018.
This ONLY affects our clients in non-EEA countries and it ONLY affects our prepaid card program. Your Goldmoney Network Account and Goldmoney Holding are not affected.

1. What will happen to my Goldmoney Mastercard?
On October 31st, 2018, your prepaid card will not longer be active. This means that you will not be permitted to load the card or spend any balance that remains on the card.
2. What happens if I don't spend my balance by October 31, 2018?
Any funds that remain on the cards will be sent back to Goldmoney Personal accounts in gold grams or to Goldmoney Holdings in the currency they were held on the card.
3. When will I receive a new card?
We currently are in the process of reinstating our prepaid card program to non-EEA countries. We hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.
4. What are EEA countries?
For the time being, we only offer our plastic and metal prepaid card program to clients who reside in the following countries:

5. Will I be able to keep my metal card?
We will be asking all clients to reapply for new prepaid cards, both plastic and metal. You will not need to pay the fees for a new metal card, but we will have a process for you to return your currently expired metal card to us.
6. I have recently requested my prepaid card and it hasn't arrived yet. What do I do?
Unfortunately, these cards will also expire on October 31st, 2018.
7. My prepaid card was suspended. Will the funds still be sent back to my Goldmoney Personal account or Holding?
This will be at the discretion of our compliance team.
